I gratefully welcome you and thank you for visiting.
I am forever connected to animals. I dream of them. I feel kinship with them. I paint them. As a western conservation artist and expressionistic/Fauvist painter, I paint in bright colors, not tied to representational colors in nature. Living where the high desert meets the mountains, I am passionate about the west, the open plains, heritage, conservation, balanced land stewardship and animals, both domestic and wildlife. Through my art I explore the connection of habitat and the increasing pressures of climate change and shared land use on the success and survival of species. I seek to understand our shared human values and the beliefs and norms that prompt us to protect our wildlife and wildplaces. I hope you enjoy viewing my art and learning a little bit about me. I create original art and murals as well as commissioned paintings for my collectors. I teach nature journaling and nature printing workshops, write poetry, and also instruct on the work of art for artists wanting to build a sustainable business.
