The Curlew is one of the most interesting birds we see in Idaho. They migrate south for winter, many times seen along the coast in California. When they migrate back north, they nest in pairs in grasslands, manytimes in cattle pastures. They team guard the next, one of the pair taking the day shift, and the other taking the night shift. They have high fidelity to their nests and stay on the nest despite danger. Good bird parents!
