The Comb Ridge portion of Bears Ears is a steep ridge running 80 miles in a north/south direction and boardered on one side by Comb Wash, and on the other side by Butler Wash. Reaching about 800 feet above the washes on either side and over one mile wide, the name comes from the jagged appearance of the ridge which is similar in shape to a rooster’s comb. Sacred places and ruins are around every corner on both sides of this ridge.
This piece is part of my solo show "Landscape Holds Memory" on exhibit November 13, 2026 to January 8, 2027 at the Sears Art Museum Eccles Grand Foyer Gallery in St. George Utah.
