The Brown Pelican can be found in Idaho, one of only 2 kinds of pelicans seen in Idaho. The Brown Pelican is seen much less frequently than the American White Pelican, being more of an accidental species here. Pelicans may breed in colonies of up to 50,000 birds, depending on the species. They mainly eat fish, but also crayfish, frogs, snakes, small mammals, birds and insects.
