Welcome!! I do commissioned paintings for any type of subject. Here's some information about how I work:
1 - Initiating the Process:
I typically work on commissions between November and April. Email me about the commission you would like to request. I do both landscape and animal commissions. Tell me about the subject you want painted. I will paint abstracts and landscapes without any photo reference, and keep in mind that the resulting painting will be my interpretation of the requested subject. For animals or specific landscape locations, you should send several high resolution photos along with details of the location or info about the animal, and any deadlines. Please note that my art is very colorful and does not use the colors of reality. A commission is my interpretation of the subject. We can meet in person if you are in the local Boise area and discuss your thoughts for the commission. I have paperwork that we can fill out to agree upon details and to prepare to commence work. A 50% deposit may be required depending on the project.
2 - Making Decisions for the Work to Begin:
I review the photos to ensure there is a good high resolution picture for reference, determine square or rectangle layout, and contact you to discuss dimensions and budget and when to begin work. For animal portraits, cost may be higher when requesting multiple animals in the same portrait. My painting style is expressionistic and colorful and the resulting painting will be not a replication of a photo, and may differ from a photo as I use my own personal style to represent the subject.
3 - Creation of the Commission:
I complete the painting and then review it with you and determine if you additionally would want a frame. I complete the entire project for you.
4 - Completion and Delivery:
If you are in the general Boise area, I can hand deliver to your home or to an agreed upon location. I ship throughout the United States for additional shipping and insurance charge.
