Getting started on my A-i-R year. I visited one of the preserve areas of the LTTV last week, guided by awesome LTTV volunteer Madison Skinner. Her passion for conservation is contagious. We visited the nature preserve at dawn and watched the sun rise. I am going to love painting the LTTV lands over the upcoming year!!
So excited, I found out today that I was awarded Honorable Mention for the Celebration Art Show for Best Series. So cool! Here is the link to the video of all the great artists awarded prix in this great show.

My first blog entry is a momentous occasion for me. I have been named the Artist-in-Residence for the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley (LTTV). My A-i-R for the LTTV runs from September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2021. First of all, what an honor! Second, I am so excited because the LTTV is one of my very favorite non-profits and it is exciting to see how I can use my art to help raise funds for the organization, to educate about their mission, and to do what I can to move their mission forward.
If you know me, you know I paint a lot of pet portraits and I’ve met many of my subjects up on the foothills and trails of the LTTV land. To this day, I see so many dogs I know when hiking with my own dog Augie. This A-i-R seems like a perfect alignment of my love of Boise, my art, the foothills and local non-profits.
